Customer Review: I have 2 and a tip for you...

I have purchased 2 of the melitta one:one coffee makers for work (I have 2 offices in different cities)and i love them. I thought I would try the one:one out because I like to have a cup or two a day and there wasn't a coffee shop near my office. Also I figured in the long run it would save me money. I was a bit dissapointed in the first one because it did not brew the right amount of coffee, so i returned it and got a replacement. It works fine. Those that complain about leaks should press the pod down into the pod holder. This creates a better seal and no leaks. As for the brew temp, mines plenty hot and i usually have to wait a few minutes for it to cool.
As for the quality of the coffee, it is pretty good but not excellent (reason for 4 stars), but you are paying for convenience. It is actually about what i expected. I would compare it to a dunkin donuts cup, good flavor, but not excellent. It is better than DD's though because it is more consistent, no burned coffee. I used to manage a coffee shop for a major chain and I'm ok with the quality of the beans. Obviously it's not gourmet, freshly roasted and ground coffee, but once again you're paying for convenience. I chose this machine after checking out reviews, looking at one in a store (seemed to be the best constructed out of the 3 styles they had), and the variety of pods.
One tip...the directions say that you will have to "re-prime" the machine's pump if it isn't used for 2 or 3 days, so over a weekend. I've found a way around this. Just fill the resevoir before you leave for the weekend and the pressure of the water is enough to keep the pump full and your monday morning will be "prime" free.
